Joe Banks, the captain of the Barons PDL team, is in his sixth season with the club, but his tenth year if you count his time spent as a member of the Barons youth academy. Banks was a part of the inaugural academy team and after a successful career at Drexel University, he is now a coach in that very same academy for the U-16 Girls.
This year, Banks has had a great season, starting the first 14 games of the season, before suffering an injury that kept him out of the final two games. He scored two goals in those 14 games, including a game-winner on June 13 against the Westchester Flames. He led a defense that had a 0.96 goals against average, the second best mark in club history.
Banks was featured on the United Soccer League’s official website, USLSoccer.com in their Passion Profile series. To read the full article, click here.
