Ocean City PDL team sheds 'Barons' name, affiliation
New era begins with revamped structure, Super Y-League teams
After 13 years, the Ocean City Barons Premier Development League (PDL) team will be changing their name and club structure after splitting with the South Jersey Barons youth academy.

For over a decade, the Barons have been one of the most successful minor league soccer franchises in North America and this organizational change is aimed at uniting the soccer community in South Jersey.

New Look for Mastbaum High School
Donated cleats helping players get a kick out of soccer.
The Ocean City Barons General Manager Neil Holloway had some new cleats gathering dust at the Barons office in OC, and during a conversation with Jim Taylor (who’s Mainland Utd Travel Team he helps train) the topic of conversation got round to Jim’s High School team in Philadelphia.

The Inner City High School soccer team has a United Nations feel to it, with players from all over the globe, many of whome have never played a High School soccer game wearing soccer cleats. Holloway immediately thought of the cleats idly sat around the office and donated them to the Mastbaum High School Boys Soccer Team.

Reading FC partners with Barons
English side features U.S. international Marcus Hahmnemann
In a landmark agreement, the South Jersey Barons organization, fronted by their Premier Development League (PDL) club, the Ocean City Barons, have formed a partnership with Reading Football Club of the English Premier League (EPL). As part of the agreement, which was organized through Reading’s "Football in the Community Trust" program, the "Royals" will send some of their coaches to lend their expertise and help run the Barons’ youth academy camp in August. Also, Reading FC will continue to host the Barons’ youth teams during Easter weekend, as they expose the young players to some of the top facilities at one of the elite youth development clubs in the EPL.
